I woke up early on the winter solstice. with a few hours to spare, I went out for breakfast. As soon as I got to the main road I saw the snow caps on the surrounding mountains. They called out to me. I had a few hours before my first appointment so I decided to see if I could reach a “winter wonderland” via Town Mountian road. It did not take much elevation change before I started to see ice

Before long it was an ice fantasy complete with ice castles. The higher I got the slicker the road became eventually changing to a solid sheet of black ice. I tried to stop once and slide a good ways I was able to keep control but I decided I was not properly dressed or did I have the tools in the car to pull myself out of a ditch if needed, so I turned around

Amazing how seeing the light from the opposite direction completely changes the photo both were beautiful, just a different feel. A reminder to always try to see all perspectives

A perfect added touch on the winter solstice. Two deer darted across the road just ahead of me, stopped on the side of the road. This one just stared at me almost like he was a messenger?
