Where can I paddle close?
When looking for place nearby where I could get a after work paddle in I thought of the Pigeon river, the part above Canton. I started scouring maps for possible put-ins and take-outs. Sherri agreed she would pick me up at Bearwater brewing that part was settled. But not being able to see the possible places I decided I would find a place to put in when I got there. After several almost’s I ended up putting in at Stamie Cove Road. This meant a steep embankment to carry my kayak down to the water but not terrible. The water was very low up here I had to scoot my boat across with my but muscles or get out and drag it several time. It got much better after about a quarter of a mile. It ended up being a very pleasant paddle
Sherri met me at Bearwater and after the shuttling back up to pick up the boat we went back and had cold beer and food from Bearwater a great evening.
