You will enrich your life immeasurably if you approach it with a sense of wonder and discovery, and always challenge yourself to try new things

A while back when I posted my almost Cuban sandwich post. I received a comment from a friend who is the sous chef at Cousins Cuban Cafe in Black Mountain.  She suggested, I stop by for a real Cuban. Today I was out and about shopping and decided to head to Black Mountain for lunch. After a saunter thru the town I stopped by the cafe. I am so glad I did. I have tried Cuban Sandwiches at several different restaurants over the years. These did not prepare me for this! Amor a primera bocadito!  Other restaurants have dry pulled pork on their sandwiches, this was not the case here. This was roughly pulled,  chunks of the most succulent, tender, perfectly seasoned mojo pork you can imagine. That and the amazing Cuban bread made this sandwich. I highly recommend it!

I also tried a cafe Cubano, it was very strong, very sweet, and delicious. I think it would have been even better with a pastry.

Looking over the menu I would like to come back one day for breakfast.

I must also put in a word for downtown Black Mountain. As I ambled around this beautiful town, enjoying a wonderful warm beginning of the christmas season.  I could not help falling in love with this idyllic small town, it embodies all of the Norman Rockwellian dreams of what a small town in America should be like at Christmas!  Many small shops, sidewalks bustling, restaurants to enjoy, back alleys, and nooks and crannies to be explored and much, much more!

Often to lead an enchanted life the first step is just getting out there. The second is a wellness to to try new experiences.

If you’re trying to live life, really live it, you should, in my opinion, try to expand all aspects of your life. Open yourself to new ideas and new things even if you find you don’t like them in the end – but at least knowing them has taken you that much further along into being a more experienced and well-rounded person in this world
